Created in 2016 and established in 2020, House of Hunters has been a lifetime in the making.
A small town girl with big dreams, creative director Jodi Walker always knew that she was destined to make clothes. She has always been surrounded by paint, craft objects and fabric. Growing up she loved making Wearable Art garments for local shows, this is where her passion for fashion and costume developed. Tapping into her Pisces intuition, she's always been drawn to the whimsical and things considered 'out-of-this-world'. She is a massive fan of all things fashion, film, theatre and history.
Jodi has studied Costume Construction at Toi Whakaari and Creative Digital Media at Yoobee College. She has worked at respected entertainment companies such as the Pop-Up Globe, Cirque du Soleil and the World of WearableArts in New Zealand. She has also worked in retail, learning more about business and how it works. With all of this experience combined, she has taken the bold step of setting up this label.
She draws from her rich experience in the costume world to create clothing and accessories that make the wearer feel the source of the inspiration. Whether it is something inspired by a different point in time or a place in fiction, her designs will allow the wearer to live a different life, boldly and freely.
